An attempt made to play the very popular romantic song " I wanna grow old with you". The one that Adam Sandler plays for Drew Barrymore in the plane in the movie, " The Wedding Singer". Hope y'all like it...
Last month has been a month of reunion, where I have met friends after not less than 8 years....Long time, isn't it? This song is dedicated to all those friends with whom I have lost touch over the years. But I havent lost touch with my memories. I still remember the simple little things that we did as kids – climbing on walls, playing dodge ball, cooking with baby utensils, Roll-call Rakhi siblings, birthday chocolates, nancy drew books, GI-Joe toys....woww.... I can just go on... We parted as teenagers and now we have met as settled adults....Hope we stay connected. Thanx to technology, we will!!!
For all the new guitar learners out there, if you are a girl, be ready to cut your nails because its difficult to play if you have long nails and also sometimes the strings seem to buzz. This goes to everybody, be prepared for some blisters on your finger tips. We experience pain after pressing down on the strings too hard when playing the fretboard, especially all of the fingers except for the thumb.Sometimes, the strings may also give you some cuts. You just have to play through the pain. All beginners fingers hurt when starting out, but believe me its worth the fun!!!
Hey!! I tried something new today. I attempted to play the song “Cry” sung by my favorite artist James Blunt. I added some special effects to the song using Garageband, an Apple Mac Application.
Though it took a lot of time to sync everything together, I felt great once the song was ready. Its not a perfectly made song though as I have made plenty of mistakes. My guitar goes flat at few places. There are some synchronization issues (lets not forget I am still a beginner) but what matters at the end of the day is that I tried something new and I am very happy and proud about it. Hurray!!!
A message to all the prospective guitarists out there, please don't hesitate to try something new. You never know it might just kick off and take you to a new level.
Ever since I got a cellphone in my hands, I have been loyal to the brand that has changed names over the years.....right from Orange to Hutch to the latest Vodafone. I have tried playing one of them “Everyday I want to fly”. Its a beautiful song. I really love their jingles and so don't be surprised if I come up with another vodafone jingle.
I would also like to dedicate this song to my friend who supposedly worked for Vodafone :)
Wish i had learnt playing the guitar earlier, it would have been so much fun playing it with friends. I have friends who are awesome singers and some who never knew how good they were at singing……Discovery!!! This video is a friend's discovery of her talent.
Way to go gurl. I had a wonderful time playing the guitar with you. Very Relaxing!!
Well, for the guitar learners out there...this is a simple song to play. It has just 4 chords - G, C, Em and D.
My friend sang this song on the voice chat that we had and so its a little squeaky and also her voice breaks at certain places. Apologies!
It gives me great happiness to see myself sing and play the guitar at the same time, something that seemed impossible to me a few months back. It has not been too long since I got a hang on the chords, but knowing to play a few chords and chord progressions has opened doors to a whole stack of my favorite tracks.
I couldn't sing and play my guitar at the same time. I could concentrate on just one. If I was playing the chords, I couldn't sing accordingly. Basically, there was no synchronization. So, I started hyming instead of singing….the sync was still not perfect.
One day, I was talking to my mother and was updating her on what I had learnt on my guitar. She casually asked me to play one of my latest and I just pulled out a song on my 6-string and started playing a Tamil song…..just to fool with my mom, I started to sing that song along. Bravo!! Bravo!! I played and sang that song perfectly at sync. My mother said, " Impressive….Looks like you have been practicing a lot." I was shocked. "Oh My God", I said, covering my face like I had just won the Miss Universe.
I tried playing to the song Tu Jaane Na from the movie Ajab Premki Gazab kahani. Till now I have just been playing guitar tabs of my favorite songs, this was my first trial with chords. I know I have not done a great job, but it feels great to have tried something new. Once it gets better I'll post the better version.
Please check the guitar lesson for this song. I had posted it earlier.
Please comment. Your comments will help me play better and keep me motivated. Thanx Guys...
Last video that I posted was only on the melody of Titanic. I tried playing both the Titanic theme and the melody. I learnt playing this song by watching Bobby Crispy's lesson. You can find that video in the earlier posts. Enjoy!

You can actually play this tune on all the other strings individually, it sounds good.
A Few beginners have a problem understanding guitar tabulture. The following video explains how to read guitar tabs which includes hammer-ons, pull-offs, bend, etc.
Hey guitarists
This is my first guitar video. I have tried palying Jana Gana Mana song on a single string i.e. on the high E string. I am sure, if you are a beginner then it will be very useful. Enjoy! Happy Republic Day!

Every note on the guitar has a name, represented by a letter. The names of each of these notes is important; guitarists need to know where to find these notes on their instrument, in order to read music.
The strings, from sixth to first (thickest to thinnest) are named E, A, D, G, B and E again.
The acronym is "Eat All Day Go to Bed Early". That may seem silly but I bet that it will help you remember the names of the open guitar strings.
Tuning the guitar is vital for sounding good. The best way to tune your guitar is with your ears but if you are a beginner then you can use a tuner to tune your guitar.
Here are some simple instructions that explain guitar tuning basics. The open strings of a guitar from the thickest to thinest are as follows: • E – the thickest or lowest sounding string is known as the 6th string • A – is the 5th • D – is the 4th • G – is the 3rd • B – is the 2nd • E – the thinest or highest is the 1st The most common method for tuning both Electric and Acoustic guitars – and the one you can use when no other instrument or guitar tuner is at hand is:
Standard Guitar Tuning Method
Step 1: The E String Tune the bottom E, as accurately as you can. Chances are it’s in tune anyways, being the thickest string it’s the least likely to detune itself than any of the others. If you have another instrument such as a Piano (which stays in tune for years), you can tune it to the 1st E below middle C. If you have no device or instrument handy just try to get it as accurate as possible, what really counts when you are playing is that the guitar is in tune with itself and any other instruments you might be playing with.
Step 2: The A String Place the first finger of your left hand just behind the fifth fret on the bottom E string. That’s an A note. Keep your finger on that fret. Now pick the fifth and six strings in turn, gently adjusting the fifth string tuning peg until the two notes are the same.
Step 3: The D String Place the first finger of your left hand just behind the fifth fret on the A string. That’s a D note. Tune the 4th string (the D note) to that.
Step 4: The G String Place the first finger of your left hand just behind the fifth fret on the D string. That’s a G note. Tune your G string to that note.
Step 5: The B String Place the first finger of your left hand just behind the forth fret (note the B string is the only one that comes from a different position the forth fret, the rest are from the 5th fret).
Step 6: Tuning the E String Place the first finger of your left hand just behind the fifth fret on the B string. That’s a E note.
